Westside Warriors 10 - 2 Victoria Grizzlies @Royal Lapage Place, Jan 8, 2011

So the the three game road trip can be summed up as the following, the good (Vernon), the bad (Trail) and the ugly (Westside).
Sunday's afternoon's game was to be polite "very ugly" as the Westside Warriors would hammer the Grizzlies 10-2. Although this was the 3rd game in three days, the scoreline was one of the heaviest defeats in recent memory.
Whats unfortunate is, that at around 2:55pm things where looking ok. The Grizzlies where tied 2-2 with the Warriors and Cowichan where beating Coquitlam 3-1. 90 minutes later, the Grizzlies had been defeated 10-2 and Coquitlam has staged a stunning comeback to beat the Caps 5-4 in OT.
The game itself sounded fairly lively in the first period with both teams exchanging goals with Hansen and Kaiser(PP) scoring for the Grizzlies and Pope(PP) and Blainleil for the Warriors.

But, this is where the lively would end for Victoria as Rylan Ferster, must have given some team talk at the end of the first. The Pride of West Kelowna , the Warriors, came out and blasted the Grizzlies for five goals to make it 7-2 at the end of the second. The Grizzlies didn't have an answer and after the 7th goal went in, Grizz goalie Jamie Tucker would be replaced by Rockafellow.
With the Grizzlies looking in disarray, Rockafellow couldn't stop the bleeding as the Warriors would add another 3 goals to complete the thrashing in the third period. The Grizzlies didn't have a response for the 8 unanswered goals and all areas of the performance must be questioned.
As this is an unofficial blog I can be a little more sceptical,but, the coaching staff really needs to give there heads a shake after this one.

Now there are still 21 games left to play for the Grizzlies which shape up to a total of 42 points. Now always the optimist here,but the key could still be those 10 points up for grabs against the forth placed Coquitlam Express. Who knows stranger things have happened.
